Nuna's contribution includes reviewing current literature to support change in our practice. She assists with updating our policies and educating our staff regarding changes in practice. She is very passionate about neonatal nursing and is always seeking ways to improve care and patient outcomes.
She has consistently demonstrated leadership skills with equal parts collegiality. Most revealing of this is the high regard and admiration her colleagues hold for her. She has been promoted to Staff Nurse Level 4 in our nursery, allowing her to conduct projects, be in charge for the nursing staff during her shift, and participate on the special technical skills team. She leads by example and, by retaining her congenial and collaborative demeanor, she maintains the respect of her colleagues, physicians and nurses alike.
she is highly motivated and disciplined to attain ever higher levels of expertise and expand her varied interests in providing healthcare in the broadest and most effective manner. She has had a wealth of nursing experience in quite different clinical settings and has excelled in them all.
She has consistently shown superior clinical skills and has displayed initiative in learning new techniques and becoming part of an elite and much valued handful of nurse's adepts at highly technical skills. She always demonstrates calm in critical situations while showing remarkable and invaluable clinical judgment. She is a valued contributor on rounds, and her abilities to analyze the situation and offer clinical suggestions are prized by us all.

Nuna serves as a role model to her colleagues, she was most recently a preceptor for the NICU training program.
She has assisted in creating a discharge checklist that look at RN processes that reduce duplication within the department. I hope Nuna will continue working with me in revising and implementing the discharge checklist.
Nuna is a great asset to our NICU team. She continues to serve in the charge nurse role, code team member, and a lead for the PICC team. She participates in many committees for the NICU and I appreciate her willingness to collaborate on projects for the unit. She is a strong patient advocate and has trust within the care team. She has a high standard of care.
